Lexi Barnum graduated from Andrews University with her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Language Arts. After college, Lexi began her teaching career teaching 5th and 6th grade in a multigrade classroom in Niles, Michigan. This is her first year at our school in Traverse City.
Lexi's biggest goal as a teacher is to help students feel the incredible worth that Jesus has placed on us all. The following quote by Maya Angelou, is her favorite because it inspires her daily in her teaching: "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
Lexi has a great appreciation for children's literature and has a goal to one day write and illustrate a children's book. In her free time, Lexi enjoys spending time with her family, her dog and close friends. She has a strong love for creativity, and finds a creative outlet in cooking, watercolor painting, sewing and embroidery.

- value labor, physical and mental, as the blessing God intended
- cultivate physical fitness, mental ability, and moral purity as the blessing God intended.
